While servicing the homes of many different people, one thing I have realized is that even if no one is home, the way a home is decorated says a lot about the people who live inside it. If you enter into a Muslim's home you will see Islamic wall art, rugs and symbols around the house. If you enter a Buddhist's home you will see little Buddha statues on a mini altar with candles surrounding it. If you visit a Hindu's home you will see images of their gods throughout the house.
How much more should we Christians have things in our home that cause people to reflect on the true living God? As Christians, one motive behind decorating our home should be to cause us, our children, friends, family, strangers, or anyone who visits, to reflect on God and His Word.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
